Y.B.Normal? “I See You” Curriculum
A cornerstone of this practice has been developing and disseminating our social-emotional learning curriculum and journals (SEL). Here at Y.B.Normal?, we developed an SEL curriculum to assist students in self-regulation, and stress management including but not limited to depression & anxiety, and an array of life challenges. Research shows (Reference) SEL has a significant impact on important life outcomes including but not limited to academic/career success, college entry/completion, and later earnings.

Social and Emotional Learning
The Y.B.Normal? “I See You” SEL Curriculum is one of the layers of a student’s foundation that is built upon for them to be successful both inside and outside of the classroom. In addition to the family, community, and school partnerships, our curriculum strengthens the SEL, social-emotional learning, which is the process that the educators and students use to manage emotions, goals, responsible decisions, relationships, and empathy towards others. Students are developed overall and become more effective on their journey through life through the implementation of CASEL’s 5 Core competencies, which is a widely used framework for social-emotional learning. The five core competencies are self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making. The strategic use of this framework accompanied by our Y.B.Normal? SEL curriculum will result in increased academic achievement and improved behavior. We anticipate and are excited to see a healthy return on your investment!

Solution

The Solution
The purpose of the Y.B.Normal? Student Curriculum is to help students today become the best versions of themselves. Most students today have low self-worth and don’t see the value in education. Many of them are plagued with obstacles like peer pressure, bullying, depression, homelessness, substance abuse, and issues at home. This curriculum was created to tackle these issues while helping to shape the character of the student. Not only is this curriculum aligned with common core and the state standards, but it also features powerful life lessons that give students proven steps to help them change their perspective and outlook on life. Y.B.Normal?, is fortunate to work with an amazing team of educators with over years of combined classroom experience. What makes this curriculum so special is that we focus on the whole child. This is a great tool for schools implantation because each one of our modules/units touches on specific aspects of the student’s behavior, life, and future. The “I See You” curriculum is one of the layers of a student’s foundation that is built upon for them to be successful both inside and outside of the classroom.
Our journals and curriculum have been reviewed by multiple licensed therapists, social workers, and a multitude of educators with over 102 years of experience combined. Our journals are available in English and Español and lesson plans are available for schools/districts.
